Combining ski-in, ski-out convenience with a calm natural setting, the apartments are perfectly placed for guests looking to enjoy both adventure and relaxation. The nearest lift, nursery slopes and ski school meeting point are all just outside, making it effortless to start each day on the mountain and ski directly back to the accommodation afterwards.

Inside, guests can choose from cosy studios or spacious apartments, all finished to a high standard with warm wooden details, soft neutral tones and subtle touches of green inspired by the surrounding forest. Every apartment includes a private sauna, while selected apartments also feature their own jacuzzi, creating the perfect setting to unwind after a day on the slopes.

Guests can enjoy quiet nights in beside the warmth of their private sauna or head to the welcoming Camp Kitchen & Bar for drinks and a relaxed alpine atmosphere. For those wanting to explore further, the Village-2-Valley gondola runs until late evening and provides easy access to the lively centre of Ruka village in just a few minutes, where bars, restaurants and entertainment can be found.

Guests can choose fully self-catered accommodation and make use of the nearby supermarket to prepare meals at their own pace, or opt for bed and breakfast or half-board packages. Meals served in the onsite Camp Kitchen & Bar include hearty buffet breakfasts and carefully prepared evening dinners, providing the ideal start and finish to each day in the Arctic snow.

All apartments have free WiFi, a TV, heated drying cabinet for ski gear, and a kitchenette with a microwave, toaster, fridge, kettle and coffee machine. Bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning (except dishes) are included.

Studio with balcony and sauna (approx. 28m²) - sleeps 1-2 (max 2 adults or 1 adults and 1 child aged up to 12 years): Twin beds, kitchenette, private bath with shower, WC, balcony and sauna.

Studio with sauna (approx. 28m²) - sleeps 1-3 (max 2 adults or 2 adults and 1 child aged up to 12 years): Twin beds, extra single bed in bedroom when booked for three, kitchenette, private shower, WC and private sauna.

Studio with sauna (approx. 32m²) - sleeps 1-4 (max 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children aged up to 12 years): Twin beds, mezzanine with double bed (accessed by a ladder and only suitable for children), kitchen (with oven), private shower, WC and sauna.

About Ruka

One of the world's first resorts to allow you to book your lift pass over the Internet, Ruka is Finland's best-known resort. Right up in Lapland near the Russian border, Ruka opens in October, offering some of the earliest skiing in the world. There are even snow cannons to boost the already decent snowfall. This really is wilderness country and with short winter days, night skiing is provided to get the most out of your lift pass. The skiing provides for all levels (to a limited degree) and you can ski to your door, but there are many other winter pursuits in which to indulge. Going here isn't just a ski holiday- it is an Arctic experience. Après-ski is limited but lively, as you would expect for such an isolated destination, but there are 9 hotels and cabins to rent, so Ruka isn't totally off the beaten track.
