Overview

The unique Art Hotel Grandes Murailles has a lovely location in the pretty village of Valtournenche. The hotel has a cosy alpine atmosphere, and we love its traditional Italian meets 'quirky-boutique' style.

The hotel is located in Valtournenche, a small resort 9kms from the centre of Cervinia. The resorts share a ski area so it is easy to get over to Cervinia or to Zermatt on your international lift pass. Getting onto the slopes is really easy, the resort bus stop is just 50 metres from the hotel.

There's a really cosy feel in the hotel with Alpine features and wood-panelled rooms. The bar area is an ideal spot to catch up with friends and family, enjoy an aperitivo before making your way to dinner where you'll enjoy a tasty three course meal. The hotel's restaurant 'Bistrot de l'Artiste' offers contemporary Italian cuisine and a nod to the typical flavours of the Aosta Valley.

Standard Rooms sleep two people. These rooms are each furnished in a unique style with wood flooring, a bathroom with a shower and views of Valtournenche. These rooms are located in the central main building or in the adjacent annex.

Superior Rooms sleep two people. These rooms are decorated in a more alpine style with wood throughout, and have a bathroom with a shower. These rooms are located in the central main building or in the adjacent annex.

Sole occupancy and triple rooms are available on request.

Twin beds are on a request basis only.

Offered on a half board basis, breakfast will include a selection of hot and cold options including cereals, fruit, yogurts, freshly baked breads and pastries, fresh coffee and tea.
A freshly prepared evening meal is provided with a good selection of local and internationally inspired dishes.

About Cervinia

Cervinia offers everything from wide, easy cruising runs to high-altitude glacier skiing on the Klein Matterhorn. With ski school located at the top of the gondola, beginners can enjoy impressive views from day one. For more adventure, an area pass opens up the linked terrain of Zermatt, along with spectacular cable car rides in glass-bottomed cabins.

Set at the top of the Aosta Valley, the compact town has a car-free, cobbled centre filled with shops and cafés. Après-ski is more relaxed and refined, with sunny terraces overlooking the slopes or livelier bars for those heading out later. Accommodation ranges from family-run hotels to larger modern stays, many with spa facilities like saunas, steam rooms and indoor pools.

Beyond skiing, highlights include the highest ice grotto in Europe, ice karting, and guided snowshoe walks through the surrounding forests.
