Hotel Josl is a chic, boutique style hotel in a great location in Obergurgl - it's for over 16s only, offering you something a little less ordinary. On the top floor you'll have some fantastic, panoramic mountain views from the modern wellness centre with saunas and new rooftop swimming pool, especially at sunset. The rooms are really comfortable - with modern furnishings, bright warm colours and sophisticated design.
It's just a couple of minutes' walk to Obergurgl's ski school and the Hohe Mut lift, so whether you are just starting out learning or are an experienced skier you'll be on the mountain in no time. And for nights out, the Josl Keller bar under the hotel is a popular haunt, with music and dancing until late – while the hotel bar is great for a more relaxed pace in the evenings.

Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head to head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.

Obergurgl skiing

Obergurgl is great for beginners and intermediates, which, along with good ski schools, makes for an excellent family ski holiday destination. One of the highest resorts in Austria at 1930m, Obergurgl has an excellent snow record and long season. Linked to Hochgurgl, there are over 100km of runs to enjoy. For more advanced skiers and boarders, there is often some nice off-piste to get that adrenalin pumping...

Obergurgl ski resort

The resort itself is pleasing to the eye and offers a sense of alpine charm. Off snow activities are a little sparse, although après ski is jovial without being too hectic. Hotels are generally of a high standard, with some excellent facilities and very high end dining if you're staying at the right places!
