Bad Hofgastein, Gastein SuperSki

The Gasteinertal area offers around 198km of mainly intermediate-friendly skiing, with a mix of tree-lined trails and wide, sunny bowls. A funicular from town provides easy access to the mountains, where highlights include the long 10.5km red run from the Hohe Scharte, one of the longest in the Alps.

The valley towns, including Bad Hofgastein, have a relaxed, traditional atmosphere with cobbled centres, painted façades, and a more low-key après-ski scene focused on cafés and quiet bars. Accommodation is largely made up of well-regarded half-board hotels, often with strong wellness facilities.

Bad Hofgastein is especially known for its thermal spa culture, with the Alpentherme Gastein offering saunas, pools, and relaxation spaces that define the après-ski experience.
