Overview
At the Hotel Regina you’re in a good spot for hitting the slopes. It's just a six-minute stroll to the Wengen-Männlichen gondola – so you can be whisked up to the top of the runs in no time, ready to swoop down into Grindelwald. And when you click out of your boots for the day, you'll find plenty of restaurants and bars close by to visit on the way back to the hotel – you’re never far away, as Wengen’s centre’s only four minutes away on foot.
The hotel was established way back in 1894 and has kept its Victorian style through the years. Step inside and you'll be greeted by cosy interiors and a few facilities for warming up after a day on the mountain. The spa and wellness area is just the place to relax and recharge too, with a sauna and steam room. From your room, you can take in stunning views over the Jungfrau area, the Lauterbrunnen valley or Wengen itself. And keep an eye out for Caramel the cocker spaniel, the hotel's friendly mascot who loves exploring the village.
When it comes to dining, you're spoilt for choice at the Regina. For a casual bite, Jack's Brasserie serves up traditional and contemporary cuisine in a relaxed setting. Or for a real treat, book a table at Chez Meyers – this gourmet restaurant holds 15 Gault-Millau points and offers four or six-course tasting menus. If you just fancy a hot drink and a catch-up though, the cosy Mary's Café is the perfect pit stop by the fireplace.

About Wengen
Many people go to Wengen simply for the atmosphere. It's sedate, stress- and traffic-free and 'old-school'. The village has excellent hotels that provide most of the dining, with some superb mountain eateries to boot. Nightlife is fairly restrained but non-skiers have plenty to occupy themselves with. In particular there is the option of the train, providing access to the valley below, to Murren, and to Interlaken. When the weather is fine, many people are happy just to sit out, enjoy the scenery and soak up the ambience of the place. It isn't just skiing in Wengen, you know.
