Overview

Hotel Lohmann is an excellent choice for families, combining convenient access to the slopes with fantastic child-friendly facilities and hotel-run childcare. The nearest lift is just a few minutes away, making it easy to get onto the mountain each day.

Dining is designed with families in mind, starting with a generous breakfast buffet offering everything from freshly made pancakes to hot favourites. After skiing, guests can enjoy afternoon tea with coffee and cake, while evenings feature a varied buffet with local specialities, familiar dishes and unlimited beer, house wine and soft drinks.

Children are particularly well catered for, with a dedicated playroom featuring soft play and a ball pit, alongside supervised childcare led by English-speaking staff. Activities include games, crafts and songs, and staff can even collect children from ski school for lunch before returning them for afternoon lessons.

For adults, the hotel offers a welcoming bar and a wellness area complete with a sauna, hot tub and steam room, providing the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes.

Rooms

All rooms have a satellite TV, safe, free WiFi, hairdryer and bathrobes.

Family room (approx. 45m²) - sleeps 3-5- (max 4 adults or 3 adults and 2 children aged 14 years and under): Two sets of Austrian twin beds, extra single sofa bed when booked for five, private bath, WC and balcony.

Twin room (approx. 30m²) - sleeps 1-4- (max 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children aged 14 years and under): Austrian twin beds, extra double sofa bed when booked for three or four, private shower, WC and balcony.

Junior suite (approx. 42m²) - sleeps 1-4- Austrian twin beds, extra double sofa bed when booked for three or four, private bath, WC and balcony.

Please note: Twin rooms and family rooms are on different floors. During the week of New Year's Eve, the minimum occupancy will be 3-4 adults.

Obergurgl skiing

Obergurgl is great for beginners and intermediates, which, along with good ski schools, makes for an excellent family ski holiday destination. One of the highest resorts in Austria at 1930m, Obergurgl has an excellent snow record and long season. Linked to Hochgurgl, there are over 100km of runs to enjoy. For more advanced skiers and boarders, there is often some nice off-piste to get that adrenalin pumping...

Obergurgl ski resort

The resort itself is pleasing to the eye and offers a sense of alpine charm. Off snow activities are a little sparse, although après ski is jovial without being too hectic. Hotels are generally of a high standard, with some excellent facilities and very high end dining if you're staying at the right places!
