Overview

If you’re after a traditional mountain stay with plenty of Italian hospitality, Hotel Chacaril is an excellent choice. The friendly, attentive team go out of their way to make guests feel welcome, creating a relaxed and homely atmosphere throughout. It works particularly well for families, couples and groups, with the option to book all nine rooms for a private chalet-style experience, or simply enjoy the warm, communal feel of a small, family-run hotel.

Set against a beautiful mountain backdrop, the hotel is just a five-minute walk from the Baby Pila lift, making access to the slopes quick and convenient. At the end of the day, the Baby Pila blue run finishes just across from the hotel, allowing for an easy ski back when conditions permit. For non-skiers or rest days, Pila village centre is also within a short five-minute walk, offering a small selection of shops and cafés to explore.

Each morning begins with a generous hot and cold buffet breakfast, featuring fresh croissants, fruit, juices, eggs, bacon and sausages – perfect fuel for a day on the mountain. In the evening, guests can enjoy hearty home-cooked dishes inspired by the Aosta Valley, starting with a salad and starter buffet followed by a choice of three first courses and three main courses, offering plenty of variety and regional flavour.

About Pila

Pila is a peaceful, family-friendly ski resort that is particularly well suited to beginners. Its easily accessible nursery area and quiet midweek slopes provide an ideal environment for learning, while the relaxed atmosphere means shorter lift queues and more time on the snow. The resort's 70km of pistes wind through picturesque pine forests, offering gentle, scenic runs alongside opportunities to discover fresh powder between the trees.

The modern, purpose-built resort is designed with convenience in mind, with many hotels located just a short walk from the lifts and several offering ski-in/ski-out access. Après-ski is typically relaxed, with post-ski drinks and traditional Italian dining taking centre stage rather than late-night nightlife.

Away from the slopes, Pila offers a slower pace of life, making it the perfect place to enjoy winter walks, take in the mountain scenery and relax with a hot chocolate by the fire after a day on the snow.
