Hotel Grones, Ortisei

Ortisei offers access to skiing on both sides of the valley, with a varied mix of tree-lined runs and wide, open slopes across the Alpe di Siusi plateau. Surrounded by the striking scenery of the Dolomites, the resort provides an excellent selection of red and blue runs, making it an ideal destination for relaxed cruising. Skiers looking to cover more ground can also head to nearby Selva and complete the famous 26km Sella Ronda circuit.

Away from the slopes, Ortisei has an authentic Alpine atmosphere, with charming shops, cafés and a historic church at its heart. Après-ski is centred around a small number of lively bars in the village centre, some of which feature dance floors for those looking to enjoy an evening out.

The village is also well known for its long-standing woodcarving tradition. Local workshops offer handcrafted souvenirs, while a dedicated museum provides an insight into the centuries-old craft, making it a worthwhile visit for anyone interested in the area's cultural heritage.
