Overview

Residence Le Tikal offers a convenient ski stay in Val Thorens, with excellent access to the slopes of the Three Valleys. The residence sits right beside a gentle green piste, allowing guests to step outside and ski straight onto the mountain. For beginners or those preferring to walk, the lifts and nursery slopes are also just a few minutes away on foot.

The two-bedroom apartments are simply furnished in a modern style, featuring sleek dark furniture with bright touches of red and orange that add warmth and character to the living spaces. Each apartment provides a practical and comfortable base for a week in the mountains.

For added convenience, the nearby Temples du Soleil shopping complex includes a supermarket and bakery, making it easy to stock up on groceries and fresh pastries throughout your stay.

Guests can also choose to make use of the wellness facilities at the neighbouring Soleil residence for an additional charge. The spa area includes a sauna, hammam, and two hot tubs, ideal for relaxing after a day on the slopes. A games room and pool table also provide extra entertainment for quieter evenings in resort.

Apartments

All apartments have a kitchenette with hot plates, microwave, fridge, dishwasher, as well as a TV with international channels, free basic WiFi and a balcony or terrace. Bed linen, towels, soap, cleaning kit and end-of-stay cleaning (except kitchen) are included. Beds are made up on arrival.

When you arrive, you’ll need to provide a credit card to be scanned. A €1 payment will be taken to secure this card, so that any additional costs (such as damage or cleaning charges) may be deducted at the end of your stay. If you can only pay by cash, you’ll need to pay a cash deposit of approx. €200 for each apartment on your booking.

Baby kits are available at an extra cost per week, payable locally, including a travel cot with fitted sheet, highchair, changing mat and pushchair.

About Val Thorens

Val Thorens skiing

At 2300m, Val Thorens is the highest ski resort in Europe, meaning the resort has a great snow record. Put simply, if there's no snow in Val Thorens then there's no snow anywhere! Forming part of the 600km Three Valleys ski domain, Val Thorens' extended skiing is excellent, with intermediates being particularly spoilt for choice. Advanced skiers also have plenty to play on with big moguls and access to the Maurienne Valley for off-piste adventures. In addition there's an excellent Snowpark to keep freestylers busy. Beginners too can enjoy Val Thorens with several gentle greens and easy blues scattered around the resort. There is no better all-around ski area anywhere in Europe, possibly the World.

As the resort is traffic-free and purpose-built, most accommodation options offer ski-in-ski-out accessibility. As well as being Europe's highest resort and part of the biggest linked ski area, Val Thorens has gained a reputation in recent years as a lively apres ski destination. The arrival of the raucous Folie Douce and the slightly more chilled Bar 360 mean that your apres ski party begins on the slopes in mid-afternoon. Back in resort you've got a choice of several bustling pubs, including Europe's highest in the Frog and Roastbeef. If you're still thirsty for more then the Alps' biggest underground nightclub, Malaysia, stays open almost until first lifts in the morning!

It's not all partying though. Val Thorens has developed many facilties over the years, including an indoor leisure centre with pool, extensive shopping, ice-driving, the list goes on!
