Overview

Set across a single level, Chalet Silene combines a warm, spacious atmosphere with classic alpine charm. The impressive open-plan living area features vaulted wooden ceilings, a cosy log burner and large picture windows opening onto a balcony, creating a bright and inviting space to relax and take in the mountain surroundings. All five en-suite bedrooms open directly onto a shared wrap-around balcony, giving the chalet a unique sense of space and a close connection to the outdoors.

After a day on the slopes, unwind in the private sauna or soak in the outdoor hot tub beneath the stars. A dedicated shared ski room with boot warmers adds a practical touch, making Chalet Silene an ideal base for a comfortable and relaxing mountain escape.

Description

Location

Just 300m from the chalet, a small selection of bars, restaurants and shops offers everything you need for relaxed, low-key après-ski. For a livelier atmosphere, Plagne Centre is easily reached by bus, with a stop directly outside the chalet connecting to the Télébus (the ‘yoghurt pot’ lift), with no ski pass required.

Alternatively, walk across the Ecartée piste to Plagne Village and take the Télébus from there, making it simple to enjoy the wider resort while returning to the peace and comfort of your chalet.

About La Plagne

La Plagne is a superb choice for families and anyone looking to build confidence on the slopes, with access to 425km of varied skiing in the Paradiski area. Beginners can progress from gentle nursery slopes to wide, scenic blue runs, including those from Grande Rochette back to Plagne Centre. More experienced skiers can enjoy longer reds towards Champagny-en-Vanoise, while those wanting to explore further can take the double-decker cable car over to Les Arcs for even more terrain.

The resort is made up of several linked villages, each with its own character. Plagne Centre is the original hub, while Plagne Soleil is the newest. Belle Plagne and Plagne 1800 are among the prettiest options, Plagne Villages sits right in the heart of the ski area, and Plagne Aime 2000 offers a quieter, family-friendly base. All villages provide a mix of accommodation, restaurants and easy access to the pistes.

Off the slopes, La Plagne offers plenty of unique experiences. You can race down France’s only Olympic bobsleigh track, take a ziplining adventure across the mountains, or visit the Bellecôte glacier’s ice grotto filled with intricate sculptures carved from snow and ice. For a more relaxed alternative with the same access to the Paradiski area, the nearby village of Montalbert offers a smaller, laid-back atmosphere while still connecting directly into the ski network.
