The Hotel des Lacs is an unfussy hotel, offering great value B&B accommodation on the outskirts of Chamonix, close to the ski bus stop serving lift stations in the valley and the town itself, which is 1.5km away. The owners provide a friendly welcome and the hotel is traditional in style, with 23 comfortable bedrooms. There's a choice of twin or double-bedded rooms, plus some larger rooms for 3 or 4 guests. Each room is en-suite, with TV and telephone plus free Wi-fi.

Location

Located 1.5km from the town centre over-looking Chamonix lakes. The regular local ski bus stops just 25 metres from the hotel and is free with your lift pass, giving easy access to the great skiing and night life of Chamonix at no additional cost. The bus runs every 30 minutes until 11:30pm.

About Chamonix

Chamonix sits at the foot of Mont Blanc and is one of France’s oldest and most prestigious ski resorts, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. While its 150km ski area is relatively small, it offers some of the most challenging terrain in the Alps, making it a top choice for experienced skiers. Highlights include the legendary 20km Vallée Blanche off-piste route and excellent intermediate skiing across areas such as Le Tour, Les Houches and Brévent-Flégère.

The town itself is cosmopolitan and historic, with pedestrian streets lined with Savoyard buildings, Art Deco architecture and specialist ski shops. Après-ski is lively, with plenty of live music venues and cocktail bars.
