Overview

Pointe Isabelle enjoys a superb central location in Chamonix, making it an ideal choice for both keen skiers and those looking to experience the resort’s lively atmosphere, culture and activities. Family-owned for many years, the hotel offers a warm and welcoming feel, while the sunny terrace adjoining the bar provides a wonderful spot to relax and take in the surrounding mountain scenery. After a day on the slopes, guests can unwind in the sauna with panoramic views or make use of the fitness room.

The hotel’s trendy bar and bistro is a great place to spend the evening, serving traditional dishes with a modern twist alongside British and Scandinavian favourites. Pointe Isabelle also has a fascinating history, named after British mountaineer Isabella Straton, who explored the Alps with her local guide husband and famously climbed the 3,761m peak that bears her name in January 1861. Her grandchildren later opened the hotel, giving Pointe Isabelle a unique connection to Chamonix’s pioneering mountaineering heritage.

Rooms

All bedrooms have a shower, WC, flatscreen TV with English speaking channels, hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities, free Wi-FI with availability for a cot.

Double standard rooms are around 20m², sleep two people and have one double bed. The rooms have either a balcony or terrace with views over the resort. Interconnecting standard twin rooms are available on request.

Superior triple mont blanc rooms are around 28m², sleeping two to three people. They have either one double bed and one single bed or three single beds (please specify when booking) and a balcony with Mont Blanc views.

Superior summit rooms are 20m² and sleep two people. The rooms have air conditioning, safe and a balcony with views of Mont Blanc and Chamonix.

Double summit rooms are slightly smaller than the twin rooms at 17m² and sleep two people on a double bed. These rooms have a balcony with views of the surrounding mountains and the resort.

About Chamonix

Chamonix sits at the foot of Mont Blanc and is one of France’s oldest and most prestigious ski resorts, having hosted the first Winter Olympics in 1924. While its 150km ski area is relatively small, it offers some of the most challenging terrain in the Alps, making it a top choice for experienced skiers. Highlights include the legendary 20km Vallée Blanche off-piste route and excellent intermediate skiing across areas such as Le Tour, Les Houches and Brévent-Flégère.

The town itself is cosmopolitan and historic, with pedestrian streets lined with Savoyard buildings, Art Deco architecture and specialist ski shops. Après-ski is lively, with plenty of live music venues and cocktail bars.
