Overview

Getting to the slopes is quick and easy from here, as the Yastrebets I gondola's close by – or, if you walk a little further, there are two chairlifts you can hop on that'll whisk you off to discover more runs in the Sitnyakovo area. Iceberg’s close to the centre too, so a wander to explore the town’s bars and shops is definitely on the table.

When you’ve finished on the mountain for the day, Iceberg has a couple of ways for you to relax. If getting together to swap ski stories over a drink’s your style, the hotel bar awaits, but for a more mellow après experience, the pool might be the place. There's also a fitness room for those who like to keep active while off the slopes or want to stick to their usual gym routine.

Breakfasts kick the day off with a hot and cold buffet, so you can sample some local meats and cheeses or fill up and warm up before heading out with some sausage and eggs. You’ve the option of upgrading to half board here too, which means 3-course evening meals each evening.

Rooms

All rooms are non-smoking and have a TV and a fridge. Kettles are available free of charge and must be requested from the reception.

Double room - sleeps 1-3 (max 2 adults, or 2 adults and 1 child up to 12 years): Double or twin beds, single rollaway bed, private bath or shower and WC.

Triple room – sleeps 1-3: Double bed, single bed, private bath or shower and WC.

Cots are available to hire, free of charge, on request.

All apartments are non-smoking and have a TV and fridge. Bed linen, towels and end-of-stay cleaning for the entire apartment are included. Kettles are available free of charge and must be requested from the reception.

About Borovets

Borovets is the oldest winter resort in Bulgaria dating back to 1896 and is also the country's largest ski resort, boasting 58km of pistes. These are best suited for beginners and intermediates and are accessed by their much improved lift systems including chairlifts and gondolas. The Borosports Snow Park is a hit with boarders who wish to improve their skills. Reliable snow coverage is between mid December and the end of April. Borovets is easily accessible, located just 90 minutes from Sofia Airport.

The resort, which has hosted World Cup competitions twice, is surrounded by forests on Rila Mountain which are perfect for the torchlit walks - a highlight to any holiday. Other activities include evening ski shows and workshops for all ages, sleigh rides, snowmobiles, access to a leisure pool and there's even a bowling alley.

The modern town centre has a good choice of modern hotels, restaurants, shops, nightclubs and bars; ideal for soaking up Bulgarian culture.
