Interlaken
Plenty of good-value accommodation in this charming Swiss resort, the Christmas market, local museums & art gallery make for interesting times off-piste too!
Overview
Stay in the peaceful village of Wilderswil and enjoy easy access to both Interlaken and the Jungfrau Ski Region. Just a short train ride from the slopes in Grindelwald and the shops, cafés and attractions of Interlaken, it's an ideal base for combining skiing with sightseeing.
Interlaken offers a lively alternative to a traditional ski resort, with lakeside scenery, historic streets, museums, restaurants and shopping. Winter also brings the bonus of lower prices than many Swiss mountain resorts, making it a great-value choice.
A 25-minute train journey takes you to the Eiger Express gondola, giving access to 211km of skiing across the Jungfrau Ski Region. After a day on the slopes, enjoy traditional après-ski in Grindelwald or try something different with a floating fondue or raclette experience on Lake Brienz. If you're planning a visit to Jungfraujoch, discounted railway tickets are available with lift passes of three days or more.
