La Parva
Overview
La Parva is the most diverse of the resorts that make up Chile's biggest ski region, sometimes dubbed 'Chile's Three Valleys'. With the French designed, purpose-built resort of Valle Nevado, and El Colorado, the resorts offer an extensive domain. The skiing is mainly above the treeline terrain, up to 12,000ft and higher. There is a joint lift pass of sorts, although some years you might have to pay a small supplement to get from Valle Nevado to El Colorado (because of inter-resort politics). La Parva's rockier terrain produces a greater variety of skiing and some excellent off-piste opportunities. To add to their popularity, the resorts are a mere 50km or so from the Chilean capital, Santiago.
