Overview
La Massana is a great choice for first ski holidays, with mostly gentle, tree-lined slopes and easy access to the mountain via a central gondola. The skiing sits mainly above 1,500m, helping ensure reliable snow conditions. Beginners can step straight onto nursery slopes, while more confident skiers can explore wide blue runs and easy reds that wind through the forests below Pic del Cubil.
The village has an authentic, lived-in feel, with traditional stone buildings in the centre and newer hotels and apartments on the outskirts. Around the gondola area you’ll find relaxed bar-cafés with live music, while livelier nightlife is just a short bus ride away in nearby Arinsal.
Beyond skiing, there are plenty of activities to try, including forest ziplines, snowshoeing, and other family-friendly mountain attractions.
