Getting back at the end of the day is just as easy, with the gentle World green run leading you directly back to the hotel meaning simple, seamless and ski-in, ski-out convenience at its best.
After skiing, head up to the top floor of the hotel to unwind in the saunas, the perfect way to soothe tired legs while taking in the alpine atmosphere. If you’re in the mood for something more, the nearby Vattufjäll offers a swimming pool, bowling alley and arcade which are ideal for a relaxed evening off the mountain.
Dining is centred around the welcoming Brasseriet, where breakfast is served each morning in a stylish mix of rustic and modern surroundings. About Stöten i Sälen
Stöten offers 41km of varied skiing, making it an excellent choice for families and beginners. The majority of the slopes are gentle and forgiving — ideal for building confidence and enjoying relaxed cruising. The ski school is highly regarded, with expert English-speaking instructors on hand to help you master the basics. Even during peak periods, the resort maintains a calm, family-friendly atmosphere, with a strong connection to the surrounding natural landscape. For more experienced skiers, there are also a handful of steeper runs to keep things interesting.
There’s plenty of time to make the most of the slopes too. Lifts open as early as 7:30am on some mornings, and selected runs stay open under the lights until 6pm. Plus, your lift pass includes a day’s skiing in nearby Kläppen, giving you even more terrain to explore.
Getting here is easy, with just a 20-minute transfer from the airport. Once you arrive, everything is within easy walking distance — from the supermarket and ski hire to bars with live music and the slopes themselves. With ski-in, ski-out accommodation throughout, the whole resort feels compact, convenient and hassle-free.
Off the slopes, the Vattufjäll is the hub for relaxation and развлечения, featuring a pool, sauna and bowling alley. You can also try classic winter activities like snowmobile safaris and dog sledding, all set against stunning Scandinavian scenery. Younger guests are well catered for too, with the friendly mascot Vargy hosting fun activities at the Wolf Club. During certain weeks, children aged six and under can enjoy complimentary club activities, as well as free ski school, equipment hire and more.
Good to know: Sweden has stricter alcohol laws than the UK. Supermarkets only sell drinks up to 3.5% ABV (and none on Sundays), while bars and restaurants serve alcohol throughout the week.
Top tip: Stöten is largely cash-free, so it’s best to use a debit or credit card. Some smaller independent businesses may still accept cash, but card payments are the norm.
