Overview
Tucked away in a pine forest on the outskirts of Bled, the family-run Ribno Alpine Resort offers a peaceful retreat with a strong eco-conscious ethos. As Slovenia’s first zero-waste hotel, its commitment to sustainability is woven into every part of your stay. Your wellbeing is just as important here too, unwind in the hot tub or ease sore muscles with a soothing session in the sauna after a day on the slopes. And with the ski shuttle stopping right outside each morning, getting to the mountains couldn’t be easier.
Surrounded by nature, the hotel has a cosy, cabin-in-the-forest charm both inside and out. Rooms are full of character, with beautifully crafted custom wood furnishings throughout from bed frames to picture frames giving each space a warm, homely feel.
Mornings start with a generous hot and cold buffet breakfast, where you can pick exactly what you’re in the mood for, including freshly made omelettes. If you upgrade to half board, you’ll also enjoy an evening buffet that’s as visually appealing as it is tasty, featuring a mix of local and international dishes. Pair your meal with a glass from the hotel’s carefully curated selection of Slovenian wines for the perfect end to the day.

About Bled
Lake Bled is easily Slovenia’s most photographed spot and it doesn’t take long to see why. Framed by snow-dusted forests and Alpine peaks, the lake’s tiny island and the dramatic Bled Castle perched above it create a scene that feels almost unreal.
While Bled itself isn’t a ski resort, it’s perfectly placed for easy access to two nearby ski areas. Within around 30 minutes, you can reach Vogel Ski Resort, known for its panoramic mountain views and varied terrain. Alternatively, Kranjska Gora is about 45 minutes away, offering a mix of gentle beginner slopes, longer cruising runs, and challenging World Cup pistes. Both resorts may be smaller in scale, but they deliver plenty of variety.
Back in Bled, the atmosphere is just as much a draw as the skiing. The town combines high-quality hotels with welcoming, family-run restaurants serving hearty Slovenian dishes. And if you’re in the mood for a change of pace, the capital, Ljubljana, is only about an hour away—ideal for a cultural day trip.
Away from the slopes, Bled’s natural setting takes centre stage. A lakeside path circles the water in roughly two hours, offering constantly changing views and plenty of scenic stopping points. For something more leisurely, a traditional horse-drawn carriage ride around the lake adds a fairytale touch especially when the landscape is blanketed in snow.
