Overview
The Ellex Eco Hotel is a sustainability-focused ski hotel where eco design shapes the whole experience, from the building materials to the food. It’s made in a chalet style using natural wood and stone, with a cosy, simple alpine interior featuring rustic larch and fir wood, neutral colours, and warm accents.
Ski access depends on ability, with confident skiers able to ski-in/ski-out via a black run, while others can reach the nearest lift and ski school in a few minutes on foot. After skiing, guests can use the spa (for an extra charge), which includes a sauna, ice fountain, and Kneipp path, all powered and heated sustainably.
Breakfast is a large buffet focused on organic, local, and homemade products, and there’s a daily complimentary happy hour with light snacks. Dinner is a 4-course meal with table service, mixing local and national dishes each evening.

Rooms
All rooms are non-smoking and have a flatscreen TV with English channels, tea and coffee-making facilities, mini-fridge, hairdryer, telephone and safe. Stocked minibars are available on request.
Double room – sleeps 1-3: Double bed, extra single sofa-bed in bedroom when booked for three, private shower, WC and balcony or terrace.
Cots are available to hire, free of charge, on request.

About Gressoney
Right in the heart of the Monte Rosa ski area, Gressoney is an ideal base for exploring one of Italy’s quieter ski regions. Towering peaks surround the valley, with long red and black runs perfect for fast carving, plus some of the country’s best off-piste terrain. Hiring a guide opens up huge 1,000m descents across wide snowfields and challenging gullies, with consistently uncrowded slopes and excellent powder conditions.
Gressoney has a relaxed, authentic alpine feel, with accommodation spread across a string of sleepy villages. Staffal offers the best piste access, with many properties just steps from the lifts, while Gressoney La Trinité and Gressoney St Jean sit further down the valley, both reachable by free ski bus. These villages are especially picturesque, with cobbled streets, wooden buildings and cosy bars and restaurants for low-key evenings.
Nightlife is limited, so the focus here is firmly on skiing by day and unwinding at your hotel in the evening.
