About Val Thorens

With a resort altitude of 2,300m and skiing reaching up to 3,230m, Val Thorens is one of the most snow-sure destinations in the Alps. It's also part of the vast Three Valleys ski area, offering 600km of interconnected pistes served by fast, modern lifts. Whether you're clipping into skis for the very first time or returning for your fiftieth trip, there's terrain to suit every ability.

The purpose-built resort is compact and convenient, with plenty of ski-in, ski-out accommodation, making it easy to maximise your time on the slopes. Set against a dramatic backdrop of towering peaks on three sides, the scenery is just as memorable as the skiing.

After a day on the mountain, the après-ski scene offers something for everyone. Dance to live music at legendary slopeside venues like La Folie Douce and 360 Bar, enjoy a relaxed drink at local favourite The Frog pub, or unwind with a spa treatment. Many hotel wellness facilities welcome non-guests, while Spa Pure Altitude at Hotel Altapura is the go-to choice for a luxurious five-star experience.

If you're looking to mix things up, soar down Europe's highest zipline at speeds of over 100km/h or tackle the Cosmojet, Europe's longest toboggan run. For a more relaxed mountain experience, head to the Caron 3200 complex at the summit of Cime Caron. Perched at 3,200m, it features a restaurant, wine lounge, panoramic rooftop terrace and breathtaking views across more than 1,000 Alpine peaks.
