The Saaga Apartments in Ylläsjärvi are offered on a self-catered basis, giving you the flexibility to plan your meals around your day. For added convenience, you also have the option to upgrade to bed & breakfast or half board for an additional supplement.

A local mini-market is within easy walking distance, making it simple to stock up on essentials. Each apartment features a small kitchenette, ideal for preparing meals in the comfort of your own space, or you can choose to explore nearby restaurants in the area.

If you’d prefer a more relaxed stay, upgrading your board basis takes the hassle out of mealtimes. Meals are served at the Biegga Restaurant in the Ylläs Saaga Hotel, located up to 300 metres from the apartments.

Each morning, you can enjoy a varied breakfast buffet with both hot and cold options, typically served from 7am to 10am. If you opt for half board, a delicious three-course evening meal is included, with a choice of main dishes, usually available between 6pm and 7:30pm.

As an added bonus, guests receive a 30% discount at the Tsohka à la carte restaurant (advance notice to reception by 6pm the day before is required). Please note that the à la carte restaurant may not be open throughout the entire season.

Ylläs is located in Kolari, West Lapland. Its slogan says “Ylläs is number 1” and many visitors return feeling that it really is. The reasons are obvious: Ylläs has a larger network of trails than any other Finnish cross-country skiing resort. A total of 320 km of mechanically prepared trails are available, 38 km of these are illuminated. A wide variety of cafés, sites for campfires and resting along the way make cross-country skiing in Ylläs an experience.

The Ylläs area consists of seven fells and two original Lappish villages. At 718 m, Ylläs fell itself is one of the highest fells in Finnish Lapland. The village of Äkäslompolo is located on the northern side of the fell and the village of Ylläsjärvi on the southern side. Ylläs has the longest downhill runs in Finland with 37 slopes and 19 lifts. In year 2002 it was nominated the best ski resort in Finland. For snowboarders, Ylläs is a dream come true with half pipes, a Snowboard Park and a Snowboard Street but also popular among telemark skiers and off-piste skiers, with several fells of untouched snow. It has grown into one of the biggest winter holiday resorts without losing any of its typical Lapland charm. In the wide spaces of the clean snow-covered fell nature you can enjoy the peace and quiet. There's fascinating adventures with or without professional guides. Try husky, reindeer, Icelandic pony or snowmobile safaris, snowshoe hiking and kick-sledging. Indoor sports vary from climbing walls to gyms and swimming. A snowmobile track leading to the top of Ylläs fell and the Ylläskammi restaurant 718 m up, is a nice break for visitors. Other resorts such as Levi, Muonio, Pallas and Hetta are within easy reach of Ylläs, thus giving a trail network of nearly 1 000 km of cross-country skiing.
