In the village of Äkäslompolo, backed by the glorious Ylläs Fell, are the Äkäs Apartments. Set a little away from the main hotel building, these apartments bag a super quiet spot. It's just a short walk to the main building, and a short bus ride to the ski lifts so getting to the slopes is easy.
The Äkäs Apartments are great if you look forward to cosy evenings in. The kitchen has everything you need to whip up some yummy homemade faves. The local supermarket is a short walk away when you're looking to stock up on essentials. The main hotel offers occasional evening entertainment and the lobby bar has a good selection of drinks to enjoy.
Offered on a bed & breakfast basis with the flexibility to upgrade to half-board, just let us know at the time of booking.

All apartments are non-smoking and have a kitchenette with hob, microwave, fridge, toaster, kettle and dishwasher, as well as a satellite TV, free WiFi and hairdryer. Towels, linen and end-of-stay cleaning are included. Safes are available at reception.
1 bedroom apartment - sleeps 1-4 (max 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children up to 12 years): Alcove with twin beds, living area with double sofa bed, drying cupboard for clothes, private shower, WC and sauna.
2 bedroom apartment - sleeps 1-6 (max 5 adults or 4 adults and 2 children up to 12 years): Two twin bedrooms, living room with double sofa bed, drying cupboard for clothes, private shower, WC and sauna.
Please note: The double sofa beds are suitable for 1 adult or 2 children up to 12 years. There is no separating door between the bedroom and living area in the 1 bedroom apartment.

About Ylläs
The Ylläs area consists of seven fells and two original Lappish villages. At 718 m, Ylläs fell itself is one of the highest fells in Finnish Lapland. The village of Äkäslompolo is located on the northern side of the fell and the village of Ylläsjärvi on the southern side. Ylläs has the longest downhill runs in Finland with 37 slopes and 19 lifts. In year 2002 it was nominated the best ski resort in Finland. For snowboarders, Ylläs is a dream come true with half pipes, a Snowboard Park and a Snowboard Street but also popular among telemark skiers and off-piste skiers, with several fells of untouched snow. It has grown into one of the biggest winter holiday resorts without losing any of its typical Lapland charm. In the wide spaces of the clean snow-covered fell nature you can enjoy the peace and quiet. There's fascinating adventures with or without professional guides. Try husky, reindeer, Icelandic pony or snowmobile safaris, snowshoe hiking and kick-sledging. Indoor sports vary from climbing walls to gyms and swimming. A snowmobile track leading to the top of Ylläs fell and the Ylläskammi restaurant 718 m up, is a nice break for visitors. Other resorts such as Levi, Muonio, Pallas and Hetta are within easy reach of Ylläs, thus giving a trail network of nearly 1 000 km of cross-country skiing.
