Overview
With more than 80 years of history behind it, Hotel Alpenfriede is one of the most established and well-loved hotels in Hochsölden. Perched at over 2,000 metres above sea level on the Ötztal’s famous sunny plateau, this family-run retreat enjoys a peaceful slopeside setting and offers a true mountain escape for keen skiers and snowboarders.
Ski convenience is at the heart of the experience. With direct access to the piste, you can collect your equipment from the boot room and step straight onto the slopes each morning. The wider ski area, including nearby Sölden, is easily accessible, making it simple to explore the surrounding terrain.
Owned and operated by the Lengler family since 1936, the hotel blends traditional Alpine character with modern comforts. Rustic details such as tree-trunk coffee tables sit alongside stylish furnishings and cosy lounge spaces, while soft lighting in the bar creates a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The bedrooms are spacious, comfortable and thoughtfully designed, providing the perfect place to relax after a day in the mountains.
Dining is another highlight, with talented chefs preparing delicious dishes using quality ingredients and happily accommodating a range of dietary requirements. The attentive service throughout the hotel reflects the family-run ethos, ensuring guests feel genuinely looked after during their stay.
When the skiing is done, the wellness area offers a peaceful place to unwind. Guests can relax in the panoramic relaxation room overlooking the mountains, soothe tired muscles in the sauna or steam bath, and enjoy a slower pace while taking in the spectacular Alpine scenery.
For those who want to maximise their time on the slopes while enjoying warm hospitality and an authentic mountain atmosphere, Hotel Alpenfriede is an excellent choice in one of Austria’s most scenic high-altitude settings.

About Sölden
If you're looking for a holiday that provides both great nightlife and great, high altitude skiing, then Sölden is for you. Après-ski events are plentiful, and the many bars and nightclubs are sure to satisfy everyone. There is a large German and Dutch clientele in Sölden so be prepared to make lots of friends from all over Europe!
Having hosted the Alpine Ski World Cup in 2012, Sölden is a great location for both skiing and snowboarding of all levels. There are 69km of blue ski trails, 51km of red ski trails, 28km of black ski trails and 2km of ski routes. So whether you are a complete beginner, an intermediate-level skier or a daredevil racer, there is truly something for everyone in Sölden. Thanks to the high altitude of the slopes (1,350 - 3,340 m), the Rettenbach and Tiefenbach glaciers, and the artificial snow-making systems covering more than 67% of the slopes, skiing is pretty much guaranteed from October through to May.
Pssst, did you know? Sölden is the only resort in Austria with 3 mountains higher than 3,000m, which are all accessible by lifts or gondolas.
One of the most popular and lively resorts in Austria, holiday makers are guaranteed a great, snow-sure time in Sölden.
