Overview

Hotel Bechlwirt is a traditional Austrian hotel in the heart of Kirchberg in Tirol, conveniently located just steps from the ski bus stop and within walking distance of the nursery slopes. The main gondola is slightly further away, but the free ski bus stops nearby, making access to the wider ski area quick and easy.

After a day on the mountain, guests can relax in the hotel's wellness area, which includes a sauna and steam room. The welcoming bar is a great place to enjoy an après-ski drink, while the ski storage room with heated boot racks ensures your equipment is warm and ready for the next day.

Each morning, a buffet breakfast offers a selection of cereals, cold meats, cheeses and freshly baked treats to prepare you for a day on the slopes. Austrian twin beds are very common in Central Europe. They’re simply one large bed frame containing two single mattresses, both with separate duvets and linen sets, that cannot be separated. Separate twin beds are less common and can often be head-to-head beds, rather than side by side, if they are available.

About Kirchberg in Tirol

Kirchberg is the ideal base for exploring the 233km Kitzbühel ski area while offering excellent value compared to its famous neighbour. From the village, the Fleckalmbahn and Maierlbahn gondolas provide quick access to an outstanding network of winding blue and world-renowned red runs, making this a favourite destination for intermediate skiers. For quieter slopes and reliable snow, head to the high-altitude Resterhöhe area.

After a day on the mountain, Kirchberg welcomes you with its relaxed Alpine atmosphere. Browse local shops, sample regional produce and unwind in cosy cafés, or choose from a wide selection of restaurants serving everything from traditional Austrian specialities to international favourites. The resort also has a lively après-ski scene, while nearby Kitzbühel is just a 15-minute taxi ride away if you're looking for a more vibrant evening.

There's plenty to enjoy away from the slopes too. Race down the thrilling 3.5km Gaisberg toboggan run or take a scenic horse-drawn sleigh ride through the snow-covered countryside for a more leisurely way to experience the winter landscape.
