Seven Springs
Overview
Pennsylvania's largest ski area, Seven Springs has 14 pistes. The large majority of terrain is suitable for beginners and intermediates. Just 17% is recommended for experts but there is a mogul field called Goosebumps which is definitely worth a go.
Lying 58 miles from Pittsburgh and 198 miles from Washington DC, the resort is highly accessible and can suffer from long lift lines at weekends. But visitors rave about the lively carnival atmosphere and the variety of facilities at the rustic base lodge (which includes 12 restaurants, roller skating, swimming, shopping and golf). There are 540 acres of skiing terrain, served by 18 lifts (ten chairs and eight tows), with a total vertical drop of 750ft.
