Mount Rose Ski Tahoe
Overview
Just 22 miles from Reno, Nevada, Mount Rose is the nearest of the Lake Tahoe resorts to an international airport. Mount Rose merged with neighbouring Tahoe resort, Slide Mountain, to produce an unexpectedly impressive combined ski area with some beautiful views across the lake. Slide Mountain is now known as East Bowl. With an exceptional snow record of 11m a year, the area feels it does not need much snow-making. Even after extending its system, only 10% of the 43 runs are covered. There is a respectable vertical drop of 1,440ft and some challengingly steep skiing, which is all served by five chairlifts.
