Camelback
Overview
This resort, with excellent early intermediate cruising and night skiing, is the closest to New York City – only 90 miles (145km) away. Although its vertical drop is only 800ft, it is an impressive resort, with 33 trails, more than half of which are graded "easier".
There is some challenging skiing, however, including Margies and The Hump, plus a FIS rated racecourse, Cliffhanger. Interstate and Marc Antony are good intermediate trails. The resort only claims an annual snowfall of 150cm, but all 150 acres have snowmaking. There are 13 chairlifts, including two high-speed quads.
