Engelberg
Traditional Swiss village with lively après-ski & family-friendly activities plus the legendary 2,000m vertical, with thrilling pistes & world-class off-piste skiing all make Engelberg an exciting holiday experience
Overview
Engelberg combines 82km of varied terrain with some of Switzerland's most renowned freeride skiing. Rising to over 3,000m on the Titlis Glacier, the resort offers reliable snow, challenging pistes and exceptional off-piste, while beginners and intermediates can enjoy gentler slopes and scenic forest runs.
Centred around a 12th-century Benedictine monastery, Engelberg is a traditional Swiss mountain town with a relaxed atmosphere. Historic hotels, cosy chalets and modern apartments line its pedestrian-friendly streets, while a handful of welcoming bars offer low-key après-ski after a day on the mountain.
Away from the slopes, take a ride on the Titlis Rotair, the world's first revolving cable car, for spectacular glacier views. Cross Europe's highest suspension bridge on the Titlis Cliff Walk, explore the glacier cave, or enjoy snowshoeing, sledging and electric snow biking. Back in the valley, visit the monastery or discover local cheese-making traditions..
