Kobla
Overview
A great value venue (one third of Western European prices) set on a plateau above the scenic lakeside town of Bohinjska Bistrica, Kobla has 35km of pistes. These cater largely to beginners and lower intermediates and are mostly beautiful tree-lined runs. There are great views of Slovenia's highest mountain, Triglav, with a wonderful lake below. The skiing is accessed by gondola. Should you run out of pistes at Kobla, which is quite possible, you can always skip over to the neighbouring resorts of Bled and Vogel (included on the pass). There is a free bus to connect the three areas. Après-ski is fairly limited, but this can be an attraction in its self. Unfortunately the snow at Kobla is not always reliable. The nearest international airport is Klagenfurt, 70km away in Austria.
