The Lecht
Overview
Scotland's smallest ski area has a network of a dozen short drag lifts on both sides of the A939 Cockbridge to Tomintoul road. The slopes are on the east-facing side of a high pass and there is a fun-park, half-pipe and floodlit dry ski slope section.
Lecht is 32 miles from Aviemore and 45 miles from both Glenshee and Cairngorm, while the nearest accommodation is three miles away at Corgarff. Best suited to beginners and intermediates who live nearby, the longest run is 800m. The snowfall can be erratic (although snow-making facilities have recently been introduced) and the weather downright vicious.
