Sansicario
Sansicario is a quiet, family-friendly village in the heart of the Milky Way ski area, offering access to 400km of pistes & shorter lift queues than nearby resorts
Overview
Perfectly positioned in the heart of the vast Milky Way ski area, Sansicario offers quick access to an extensive network of red and blue runs in every direction, making it an excellent choice for skiers who want to maximise their time on the slopes. The local pistes are tree-lined, sheltered and typically much quieter than those at the larger neighbouring resorts, giving beginners and intermediates plenty of space to build confidence. Families will also appreciate the convenient nursery area, located just a few metres from the village centre.
The village itself is compact and easy to navigate. A handful of modern hotels sit at the foot of the slopes, while a small central plaza features a supermarket, a couple of restaurants and a few essential shops. Skiing is undoubtedly the main attraction here, but if you're looking for a livelier après-ski atmosphere, the bustling resort of Sestriere is just a short taxi ride away.
Off the slopes, you can enjoy a peaceful winter walk through the surrounding woodland or add a dose of adrenaline to your trip with a ride on the nearby Olympic bobsleigh track. Climb aboard a taxi bob and race through the twists and turns at speeds of up to 125km/h for an unforgettable experience.
