San Martino
A low-key resort in the southern Dolomiti Superski, with sunny, scenic slopes & relaxed feel. It’s great for building confidence, with wide, easy runs with big mountain views
Overview
San Martino is one of Italy’s smaller ski resorts, but it makes up for its size with dramatic Dolomite scenery and well-groomed slopes. The terrain is fairly gentle, making it ideal for beginners or those progressing beyond the nursery area, with a mix of wide, open mountaintop pistes and tree-lined runs lower down. Its southerly location in the Dolomites also means a strong chance of sunny, bluebird days.
The village sits in a sunny bowl surrounded by pine forests and striking peaks, creating a memorable alpine setting. While the lifts are on the outskirts, a regular bus service makes access easy, and the compact layout means everything is within reach. Après-ski is relaxed and centred in the village, with laid-back bars perfect for an evening aperitif.
Off the slopes, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the mountains, from guided forest walks and horse-drawn sleigh rides to tandem paragliding flights over the surrounding peaks.
