La Toussuire, Les Sybelles

La Toussuire is the highest resort in Les Sybelles, set at 1,800m in a wide, sunny bowl that benefits from reliable snow and plenty of sunshine. It’s a great all-round base, especially for beginners, with gentle nursery slopes right next to the village and easy-to-use magic carpet lifts for first turns. Once confident, skiers can explore the wider Les Sybelles area, with long, open pistes linking four neighbouring villages, plus a mix of cruising runs, fun slopes and a snow park for added variety.

The village itself is compact and pedestrianised, making it very convenient to get around on foot. Everything you need is close at hand, from supermarkets and ski hire to cafés and equipment shops. Accommodation is typically modern apartments, well suited to self-catered stays and independent holidays.

Après-ski here is relaxed rather than lively, with a handful of friendly bars and restaurants along the main street offering easy-going evenings rather than piste-side parties. There’s also a bowling alley and cinema for low-key entertainment after skiing.

If you’re after more than just skiing, La Toussuire still delivers plenty of mountain fun. Try classic sledging runs, go dog sledding through snowy landscapes, or swap skis for a fat bike and explore the trails on two wheels for a different kind of alpine adventure.
