Apex Mountain Resort
Overview
One of Canada's under-rated resorts, Apex, in the Okanagan Valley, deserves more recognition. It's quaint, on the small side, but expanding. Recently it was voted Canada's best small destination resort by Ski Canada magazine.
The recently modernised base is definitely quite small, while the ski terrain, at 650 acres is varied but not enormous. There are 56 trails, a truly exhilarating mix, with more than enough to keep strong skiers happy, particularly in steep gladed runs like Make My Day, Gunbarrel and Magnum. There's excellent off-piste, too. And don't miss the great views of the Cathedral mountain range.
