Overview
Achenkirch lies in a nature reserve in the Karwendel mountains at the boarder of the Achensee lake. With its surface of 730 km², this nature reserve is the largest one in Europe. It offers family atmosphere, a large range of hiking and cycling opportunities.
In Achenkirch, there is a famous private Lipizzan stud farm. It is the biggest one in Austria. Everyone can ride these beautiful horses. The Posthotel in Achenkirch offers rides either in the riding hall or on guided trips into the Achental valley.
