Vall de Chall - Huaco
Overview
This resort, a small, modern satellite of Argentina's most famous ski area, Bariloche, translates in the Araucana language of central Chile as "Valley of the Fishermen's Brook". It has two small ski hills on opposite sides of a re-forested valley and although small, has good off-piste potential. Bariloche's Gran Catedral, near the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi in Argentina's Lake District, is the big local attraction, with more than 30 lifts and 50 trails. But skiers who fancy a diversion will find they can ski not only at Chall-Huaco, but two other tiny ski areas nearby – Piedras Blancas and Villa Arelauquen
