About Saas Fee
Saas-Fee/Saastal
Sitting at 1,800 m, the car-free village of Saas-Fee offers breathtaking alpine scenery and guaranteed snow, thanks to its glacier terrain reaching up to 3,600 m. Surrounded by Switzerland’s highest peaks, including the Dom (4,545 m) – the highest mountain located entirely within the country – Saas-Fee is a paradise for winter sports enthusiasts.
The Skiing
Thanks to its high altitude and glacier, the region enjoys an extended ski season from November to the end of April, with consistently excellent snow conditions. In the holiday region Saas-Fee/Saastal, visitors can explore over 150 km of perfectly groomed slopes catering to all levels, from beginners to experts. Saas-Fee itself is renowned for its challenging descents and glacier runs, as well as for its traditional alpine character.
As a completely car-free village, Saas-Fee offers a peaceful and authentic mountain atmosphere. Off the slopes, adventure awaits with glacier hiking, sledging, snowshoe and winter hikes, a thrilling alpine canyon, the world’s highest underground train and the world’s highest revolving restaurant at 3,500 m. Après-ski is relaxed yet vibrant, with cosy mountain bars and traditional Swiss restaurants serving local specialties.
Beyond Saas-Fee, the Saas Valley offers more to discover: Saas-Grund is known for its sunny slopes and magnificent panoramic views, with lifts reaching up to around 3,200 m. Further down the valley, Saas-Almagell provides a family-friendly atmosphere with gentle runs and Kian’s Adventure Land, featuring Kids-Skidoo and snowtubing, perfect for children and beginners. Together, these three areas form a versatile ski destination where everyone – from thrill-seekers to families – finds their ideal terrain.
A thriving year-round resort, Saas-Fee/Saastal is just as busy in mid-Summer with skiers, hikers, bikers and families.
