About Nendaz
A hugely underrated resort, with direct access into the 4 Vallées ski area and the 420+km of piste offered with the links to Siviez, Veysonnaz, La Tsoumaz and, of course Verbier.
Nendaz is a large mountain community perched above the main valley town of Sion, with stunning views along the Rhone Valley as far as the German-speaking areas...
Let's start with the skiing, it's hard to think of a better ski area anywhere in Switzerland, or Europe for that matter. All pistes are above 1400m and with a large majority of North-facing slopes which hold their snow exceptionally well. Nendaz gives direct access into this varied terrain, with something on offer for all abilities. Beginners and intermediates will love the selection of cruising available on the runs in and aorund the villages, including Siviez and Veysonnaz. The more adventurous can quickly make their way up Mont Fort or Tortin and try out some of the superb itinerary runs (unpisted, but marked and patrolled) that are unique to Swiss ski areas.
Down in the town and Nendaz keeps giving. A large, vibrant centre with choice in all departments, Nendaz will keep you entertained if you want, but it's easy to stay chilled if you're not after the rowdy vibe. Shopping, ice-skating, snow-shoeing, dog-sledding. The range of mountain restaurants is excellent, as you'd expect with the clientele coming over from Verbier.
Finally, make the most of the 30-minute bus ride to Sion and then relax on a direct train to Geneva Airport, for a seamless start and end to your holiday.
