About Kläppen
Kläppen is a family-run resort with a laid-back, close-knit feel — ideal for those looking to take their first steps into skiing. The terrain is largely gentle and forgiving, so beginners can comfortably explore much of the 26km ski area, with sheltered runs and well-groomed slopes throughout. It’s also home to one of the few gondolas in the region, offering a scenic ride up the mountain and a quick, easy way back down to the village.
For those keen to clock up a few more kilometres, your lift pass also includes a day’s skiing in nearby Stöten, adding even more variety to your trip.
Families are particularly well catered for here. The dedicated children’s ski area has been thoughtfully designed, featuring a playful learning zone with drag lifts, magic carpets and a snow playground. On the slopes, mini obstacles, grill huts for cosy barbecue stops, and energetic instructors make learning to ski fun and engaging. Little ones can also meet the resort’s much-loved mascots, Trolle and Trolla, who bring extra magic with shows and on-snow adventures.
Convenience is key in Kläppen. The resort is just a 40-minute transfer from the airport, and with ski-in, ski-out accommodation widely available, you can be on the slopes in moments. Off the mountain, the atmosphere stays relaxed and family-friendly, with early après-ski and plenty of entertainment to keep everyone smiling.
Good to know: Sweden has stricter alcohol laws than the UK. Supermarkets only sell drinks up to 3.5% ABV (and none on Sundays), while bars and restaurants serve alcohol throughout the week.
Top tip: Kläppen is largely cash-free, so it’s best to use a debit or credit card. Some smaller independent spots may still accept cash, but card payments are the norm.
