Ski Holidays in Voss

Voss is surrounded by mountains and fjords and is located one hour from Bergen by train (116km). Found on Mount Hangur, the snow can be unpredictable due to low altitude. The skiing, 40km of pistes, is mostly for beginners and lower intermediates. Advanced skiers have limited choices, apart from some off-piste and three blacks. There are also 60km of cross-country tracks in some lovely terrain. Non-skiers have plenty to do with the array of activities that the fjords provide, but nightlife is far from exceptional, with very high prices for alcohol. Between January and March the British Army has manoeuvres in the area, so be warned - the squadies have been known to get rather rowdy. Overall, Voss is not a place to go to solely for skiing, but certainly a great venue to explore the fjords.
