Ski Holidays in Geilo

On the train line from Bergen to Oslo, Geilo is a quiet resort that is best suited to families and cross-country skiers. In fact, 'langlaufers' have hundreds of kilometres of tracks, as Geilo is one of the biggest centres in Norway. For downhill skiers there are 39 runs to chose from most of which cater for beginners and intermediates. There is excellent childcare and instruction and the resort facilities are all within a short distance. Overall, Geilo is a small resort more geared towards cross-country than downhill skiing. It offers limited pistes, with a quiet and unrushed atmosphere, but not really a place for dedicated skiers.
