Description

Situated in the hamlet of Entreves, this delightful spa hotel was developed from an old mountain chalet and retains many of the original features. We are proud to offer the Pilier d' Angle as our flagship Half Board base in Courmayeur. The architect was keen to keep the traditional stone and wood yet combine more modern facilities in the rooms. A second chalet was added and the hotel now offers comfortable accommodation together with excellent food and an outstanding wine list. The dining room, with its roaring log fire, is welcoming and there is a cosy bar in which to enjoy a quiet drink. The new lounge bar has wide screen TV for movies or watching key sporting events. The new, attractive Serendip Spa complex is a great way to relax after your day on the slopes. It includes jacuzzi, steam bath, sauna, hot tropical rain shower, cool shower, relaxation room and offers a variety of treatments and massages.

Location

In the heart of Entreves village, the hotel is just a short walk (350 m) from the very convenient Val Veny cable car that offers direct access to the main ski area. There is also a free hotel shuttle bus. Entreves is a short drive, or fifteen minute walk, from the centre of Courmayeur.

Bedrooms

The bedrooms are traditional in style, many being wood-panelled, and all have en-suite shower/wc. There are also some attractive suites and apartments suitable for small groups or families. There are four superior rooms in the new Le Foyer chalet annexe.

About Courmayeur

Courmayeur’s compact 42km ski area sits on the sunny southern side of Mont Blanc, offering a varied mix of open bowls and tree-lined runs, with plenty of reds that suit confident intermediates. At lunchtime, mountain restaurants serve up classic Italian dishes like wood-fired pizza and creamy polenta, making long, relaxed breaks part of the experience.

Popular with stylish weekend visitors from Milan and Turin, the town has an upmarket yet relaxed feel. The cobbled, car-free centre is reached by cable car and is lined with boutiques, delis and elegant bars, with a small but lively après-ski scene that can carry on into the night.

Off the slopes, you can explore the surrounding mountains on a guided snowshoe walk, or take the rotating Skyway cable car for panoramic 360-degree views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks.
