Overview
The hotel has a traditional look, from the bright green shutters to the frescoed walls. The authentic feel continues inside, with pinewood panelling lining the restaurant and lobby bar. Upstairs, the bright and simply furnished bedrooms are a comfy place to end the day – and some even have balconies where you can step outside to take in the mountain views.
As for the food, wake up to the smell of freshly baked croissants each morning, and fuel up for the day with a continental buffet breakfast. If you’re feeling peckish post-piste, you can grab a light bite from the bar. And when dinner time rolls around, sit down for a four-course meal that mixes Mediterranean flavours with mountain dishes – think platters of cured meats and seafood risottos.
You won’t find many extra facilities here. Spend your off-slope hours relaxing with a drink in the lounge. Or if you fancy soothing your ski muscles, you can pay a little extra and book a slot to use the spa in the nearby Hotel Cristallo.

About Cortina
Cortina offers something for every level, from wide nursery areas and gentle blue runs to steeper reds and blacks, making it ideal for mixed-ability groups. The scenery is outstanding, with wooded pistes dropping into the valley and the dramatic pink-tinged Dolomite peaks framing every direction. With many Italian visitors drawn more to the social scene than the skiing, the slopes are often quieter than elsewhere in the region.
Known as the Queen of the Dolomites, Cortina attracts a stylish weekend crowd, giving it a distinctly authentic Italian atmosphere. The main street is lined with boutiques, bars and cafés, all set beneath a Romanesque bell tower and cobbled piazza. Evenings can be as relaxed or lively as you like, from wine-bar terraces to gentle strolls through town. Accommodation ranges from luxury hotels to more affordable, family-run stays.
Beyond the slopes, there’s plenty to explore, including 300+ shops offering fashion, ski gear and local crafts. For something more active, snowshoeing in the Ampezzo Nature Reserve offers a peaceful way to experience the surrounding landscape.
