Tucked away in the peaceful Maurienne Valley, close to the Italian border, Val Cenis combines authentic Alpine charm with excellent snow conditions. Its end-of-valley location often benefits from localised weather systems that bring extra snowfall, helping to maintain reliable conditions throughout the season. With three traditional villages, purpose-built accommodation close to the slopes and a generous ski area, it's an excellent choice for those seeking convenience without sacrificing character.

The resort offers 125km of north-facing pistes, with wide, high-altitude runs starting at 2,000m that are perfect for relaxed cruising. Along the way, you'll enjoy spectacular views across the Vanoise National Park and towards the Italian Alps. Val Cenis is also home to the Escargot – Europe's longest green run – which begins at Lac du Mont Cenis before winding its way down to Lanslebourg, making it a memorable descent for beginners and confident cruisers alike.

Each of the resort's villages has retained its traditional Alpine character, with chalet-style buildings clustered around historic churches and a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere. Off the slopes, more than 40 bars and restaurants serve regional favourites such as fondue and raclette, making for cosy evenings after a day on the mountain. Most accommodation sits at the foot of the slopes too, so you're never far from your next day of skiing.
