Overview

Chalet Chamois Volant is a truly standout property, seamlessly blending authentic Alpine character with high-end modern comforts. Originally a 19th-century farmhouse, it has been beautifully renovated to retain its charm, with vaulted stone ceilings, exposed timber beams, and warm, ambient lighting creating an inviting, rustic atmosphere throughout.

Set over four spacious floors, the chalet comfortably accommodates up to 14 adults and 2 children, making it ideal for larger groups. All seven bedrooms feature stylish en-suite bathrooms, combining traditional features with contemporary alpine design.

At the heart of the chalet lies a generous open-plan living and dining area, centred around a crackling wood-burning stove. Sink into plush leather sofas or gather around the large rustic dining table, which seats up to 16 guests which is perfect for sociable evenings after a day on the slopes.

Unwind in the outdoor hot tub on the balcony while taking in stunning mountain views, or warm up indoors beside the fire. Additional touches such as a dedicated ski room with boot warmers, a bean-to-cup coffee machine, complimentary WiFi, and cosy robes and slippers ensure a comfortable and effortless stay.

Private parking is available with early booking, adding further convenience to this exceptional alpine retreat.

Room 7 = set on two levels, private sitting room with extra bed for children only, leading up to king-sized double with bath, shower and WC- suitable for a cot.

Beds in rooms 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 will be made up as twins unless we are advised otherwise.

About Les Deux Alpes

Les Deux Alpes skiing

Les Deux Alpes is a very popular resort with the Brits. It boasts the largest glacier in Europe (at 3568m)allowing for year round skiing. The biggest attraction for boarders and freestyle skiers, and those that like a bit of pro spotting, is the world class snowpark found at the Jandri mid-station during the winter, and up on the glacier during the summer. Beginners and intermediates are well catered for with some nice motorway pistes. Advanced skiers should head to the La Fee area for testing black runs and to nearby La Grave for some of the best off-piste around.

Anywhere with its own 200km ski area should be on the serious skier's to-do list.

Les Deux Alpes ski resort

The resort itself is quite large and spread out, it does have a very good range of shops and restaurants, plus varied and lively apres ski & nightlife. For non skiers, the hamlet of Venosc with its craft shops and cute eateries is walkable when there's not too much snow, or can be reached by cable car. Childcare is very good, so families are welcomed.

Overall, a lively resort and very popular with the young freestyle crowd and their followers, with La Grave and the glacier particular pluses and Grenoble Airport only 90 minutes away. A great resort if you're on a budget, but with some popular high end choices too. You're guaranteed a fun time in Deux Alpes!
