Overview
The Sowell Family La Lauzière’s tucked in the quieter, more traditional Plagne Montalbert, so it’ll be right up your piste if you’re after a laid-back base with speedy access to the whole La Plagne and Paradiski area. You can ski to and from the boot room door on a red run when the snow's good. For ski school or nursery slopes, just hop on the ski bus. And when you want to explore more of the ski area, the speedy Montalbert gondola whisks you up towards Plagne Centre.
The hotel's got that classic alpine charm – cream walls, dark wood cladding and balconies outside, while inside you'll find a cosy lounge with earthy tones, comfy sofas and a roaring fire. The compact rooms have homely touches like fluffy pillows, snug covers and a modern bathroom for those post-ski soaks.
You’ll be staying all-inclusive, so start with the delicious breakfast buffet and you can also make yourself a sandwich for a slope-side lunch later in the ski day. Head back to the hotel for afternoon tea before your buffet evening meal. Add in free soft and hot drinks, beer and wine between 10am and 10pm plus a selection of stronger alcoholic drinks at certain times of the day, and that’s you sorted.

About La Plagne
La Plagne is a superb choice for families and anyone looking to build confidence on the slopes, with access to 425km of varied skiing in the Paradiski area. Beginners can progress from gentle nursery slopes to wide, scenic blue runs, including those from Grande Rochette back to Plagne Centre. More experienced skiers can enjoy longer reds towards Champagny-en-Vanoise, while those wanting to explore further can take the double-decker cable car over to Les Arcs for even more terrain.
The resort is made up of several linked villages, each with its own character. Plagne Centre is the original hub, while Plagne Soleil is the newest. Belle Plagne and Plagne 1800 are among the prettiest options, Plagne Villages sits right in the heart of the ski area, and Plagne Aime 2000 offers a quieter, family-friendly base. All villages provide a mix of accommodation, restaurants and easy access to the pistes.
Off the slopes, La Plagne offers plenty of unique experiences. You can race down France’s only Olympic bobsleigh track, take a ziplining adventure across the mountains, or visit the Bellecôte glacier’s ice grotto filled with intricate sculptures carved from snow and ice. For a more relaxed alternative with the same access to the Paradiski area, the nearby village of Montalbert offers a smaller, laid-back atmosphere while still connecting directly into the ski network.
