Overview
Description
Chalet Poudreuse sits on the plateau in the centre of Avoriaz. At a dizzying altitude of 1850 metres, and right next to the piste, lifts, ski schools, mountain restaurants and village centre, independent chalets in this spot are rarer than January marmottes. Ski-in ski-out locations don’t get better than this anywhere in the world; we have to transfer you and your bags across the pistes by snowcat!
Reborn from the site of an old 16th century barn, the new Chalet Poudreuse has a fabulous vaulted living area with flat screen and fireplace, balcony with spectacular mountain and piste side views and ubiquitous sauna. At this altitude and location the bedrooms are undeniably compact, but well equipped nonetheless; with plenty of storage, wall mounted flat screen TVs and smart contemporary bathrooms. We have long wanted to bring the exceptional service offered to this idyllic and unique skiing paradise. Two staff live in the chalet for your comfort and convenience.
When your instructor can knock on the door without removing his skis and you can stroll across the empty piste for a beer as the sun goes down at the end of the day, you will appreciate why we are so excited about this incredible asset. A completely unique ski holiday experience.
Chalet Poudreuse will be furnished and photographed in November 2013. Photographs shown on this page are from other chalets within our portfolio and intended as a guide to reflect the style and décor of the completed property.
Location
Situated at the top of resort just by the TK Dromonts lift and a short glide away from the 'Plateau' nursery slopes. After a hard day on the slopes the chalet is just staggering distance from the Yeti Bar and a short walk in to town for those wanting to venture a little further afield.

About Avoriaz 1800
This also attracts better skiers, as do some great black pistes. The most notable of these is 'The Wall', which plunges you down into Switzerland and should only be tried by those with plenty of tough miles under their belts. But don't despair beginners and intermediates - there are countless motorway pistes across the whole network to get you sorted and smiling.
As a purpose-built resort, Avoriaz was one of the first to work out a largely sensible layout. There are no cars, making for a calm, safe atmosphere. Lifts are very close to the accommodation, which varies greatly depending on the age of the building. Horse-drawn sleighs are popular and very romantic in an evening after dinner. Because of its attractions, Avoriaz often gets crowded and can be expensive. There are about 25 restaurants (some good, but pricey) and reasonable nightlife. The ski school is excellent. Children are well catered for, including a very good kids' village and Geneva is only two hours away.
Overall, Avoriaz is blessed with a number of qualities to establish its excellent reputation in the region. It's good for its snow, its challenging skiing and the fact that you can always ski to your door.
