Overview

Les Lauzes is an attractive wooden chalet nestling right on the slopes and only a short walk to enjoy the après ski scene in the bars and restaurants of Avoriaz centre. You can ski right from the chalet door to the ski lifts and let your day begin! The chalet has an open-plan living and dining area with pine walls giving it a warm and cosy ambience. The sauna is a welcome bonus, and the perfect way to relax after a full day on the slopes.

Description

Location

The chalet offers ski in/out possibilities and is just a short 2-minute walk to the nearest apres-ski bars, including the Folie Douce. The traffic-free resort centre with shops, restaurants, cafes and the exhilarating Aquariaz water park is just a few minutes away from the chalet.

From the transfer drop off station, the chalet is then accessed on foot over the snow, please wear appropriate footwear. It is a short 200m walk across relatively flat snow from the vehicle drop off point. Your luggage will be delivered to the chalet for you.

Alternatively, when arriving during the day, if available, you can take a horse drawn sleigh to the chalet at a small charge paid to the driver (this can’t be pre-booked).

Meals

Offered on a catered chalet basis, your holiday will include a cooked and continental breakfast, afternoon tea/coffee and cakes, 3 course dinner and a choice of complimentary, quality wines followed by coffee.

Please note it’s the chalet hosts day off on a Wednesday and Saturday. On these days hosts will leave breakfast and afternoon tea out for you, but the evening meal is not provided, which gives you an opportunity to dine out in Morzine, where there is no shortage of restaurants, not to mention an excellent choice of bars and shops.

About Avoriaz 1800

Avoriaz sits right in the centre of the vast 650km Portes du Soleil ski area, making it an outstanding base for exploring one of Europe’s biggest cross-border ski regions. Intermediates are especially well catered for, with an extensive network of high-altitude blue and red runs, all easily accessed ski-in ski-out from your accommodation. Confident skiers can venture further afield into Switzerland, while beginners can learn close to the resort in the dedicated nursery area before progressing onto gentle linked slopes down towards Morzine.

The resort itself is completely car-free and designed for skis and sledges rather than traffic, creating a unique, snow-filled atmosphere where you can literally ski through the streets. Its distinctive architecture, with tall wooden-clad buildings and slanted roofs, is designed to blend into the surrounding mountain landscape. Avoriaz is also known for its large number of self-catering apartments, making it particularly popular with families and groups looking for flexibility and convenience.

Away from skiing, Avoriaz offers some of the best off-slope activities in the French Alps. The Aquariaz water park brings a tropical twist to the mountains with lush vegetation, waterfalls and slides, while snowshoeing excursions offer a quieter way to explore the winter landscape. Many guided walks even finish with dinner in a traditional mountain hut, adding a memorable end to a day in the snow.
