About Kirchdorf
Kirchdorf itself is a fairly small ski resort. There are only three runs and four lifts, so the skiing is quite limited. However, if you stay here you can buy the 'Schneewinkel' pass, which gives you access to St Johann in Tirol and other resorts with a total of 182km of pistes. These are not lift-linked. Alternatively you can buy the massive 'Kitzbuheler Alpen' pass, which covers nearly 700km of pistes, although over a much greater area, requiring a car to access.
Kirchdorf itself is an extremely attractive Tyrolean village set in stunning scenery. It is only 90 minutes from both Salzburg and Innsbruck and is very quiet and sedate. There are a few restaurants, shops and bars and these are very Austrian in character. Overall, Kirchdorf is a great touring base, particularly if you want to avoid crowds, but not ideal if ski mileage is your game.Child Care
