Overview
With a history spanning over 400 years, Hotel Rössle is one of the most characterful places to stay in Galtür. Now run by the Huber family, it offers a warm, homely atmosphere where guests are made to feel instantly welcome, supported by a friendly and attentive team.
The hotel is located a little way from the slopes, meaning there’s a short journey each day, but a ski bus stop positioned right by the boot room makes getting onto the mountain straightforward and hassle-free.
Traditional Alpine charm is evident throughout the property, from the large wooden balconies outside to the cosy interiors filled with black-and-white mountain photography and vintage ski displays. Inside, the focus is firmly on comfort and relaxation. The modern spa area provides a calm retreat after skiing, with soft lighting, clean lines and a minimalist design that creates a peaceful, restorative atmosphere.
Dining is a highlight at Hotel Rössle, with plenty of choice throughout the day. Breakfast features a generous buffet including cereals, pastries, fruit, yoghurt and hot options, with the added option of freshly made omelettes and pancakes. Afternoon snacks help keep energy levels up, while dinner is a four-course meal accompanied by a salad buffet. The kitchen caters well for dietary requirements too, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options available on request.

About Galtür
Further up the beautiful Paznau Valley from Ischgl is Galtur. It has 40km of runs, plus bus access to 200km at Ischgl and even more with the 'Silvretta' pass.
Galtur is a typical small Austrian Alpine village, traditional and, because of its height (1600m), blessed with some great snow and views. It is much quieter and cheaper than Ischgl, resulting in fewer hotels, restaurants, bars and clubs. There is a free bus to Ischgl so you make the trip over into Switzerland for some tax-free bargains.
The uncrowded skiing at Galtur tends to favour beginners and early intermediates, emphasising the family nature of the place. This is also due to an excellent ski school. The lifts are a little inconvenient, located 1.8km from the village. There is night-skiing offered and off-piste powder to give better skiers some challenges who can also head for Ischgl.
